Her Bedroom

A room is the most private space for a person, symbolizing safety and comfort. In Zahara's room, we talked about childhood, past experiences, pain, and unresolved feelings. In this intimate setting, I took three Polaroid photos of her. In contrast to the security of her room is the sense of confusion and disorientation faced when navigating the diverse crowds in the city. I captured her walking through the city using black-and-white film, and I combined these developed images with the Polaroids taken in her room. This merging highlights the clash between the individual and the external world. The immediacy of the Polaroid images contrasts with the prolonged development time of the film, emphasizing the tension between personal space and the outside environment.
